complete newbie cant use wine??
 
So ive installed suse and wine is installed what next? what do i do to get it runnig do i have to unpack it or will it just run so i can configure it to use my windows stuff? if so how do i start it ? also i having trouble with ./configure and make
bash make command does not exist
same for configure ? yet i cant find it on my suse cd all available packages are installed?

what is going on shall i get a new distro you think?

I think the first question you need to think about is: are there linux-kinda-tools for the windows-apps you want to use ?

Make command doesn't exist ? Do you have a compiler on your system ?
I don't know if you installed SUSE-Personal ? AFAIK Suse-Personal doesn't have a compiler by default.

I can't tell you much (yet) about using wine..

In order to be able to run programs in wine, you have to get your wine configuration file set up properly. Read the wine documentation for that.

To actually run the program, from the command line, you type "wine program.exe" and it will try to run the program. Not all programs work. you can to to http://appdb.winehq.org/appbrowse.php to see more info on your specific program, and any tips about making your program work in wine.

guess what its suse personal that would be about right tho wouldn't it lol no compiler !!!

so what do you suggest is the compiler i need?
