Compiz Fusion + Emerald = invisible borders

I followed this guide:
TechBlog - How to: Enable Compiz-fusion in Ubuntu Feisty

And got compiz fusion loading just fine using the metacity decoration.
However, installing emerald, libemeraldengine0 and emerald-themes-manager doesn't seem to cut it for compiz fusion.

Everytime I run
Code:
emerald --replace&
I can see the top-left and top-right corners of the emerald theme, the rest is 100% transparent -but useable, I can drag the invisible border (and thus the window) around, close, maximise etc.. I just can't actually see the theme.

From those small parts I can see (top-right and top-left corners of the current decoration) I can see that it also updates whenever i use the emerald theme manager to change themes.

What might I do to be able to see the emerald themes within compiz fusion ?
BTW: I just installed Beryl as well and it displays the emerald themes just fine, so it's probably got something to do with compiz.
