compiz effects randomly turn off

so i upgraded to gutsy and it's fantastic, but the compiz fusion is having issues which it didn't have when i ran it with feisty. currently everytime i start my computer i have to open up the effects manager and reenable the 'move windows' and other effects. i have no clue why this is happening as it only affects some of the 3d effects (not all of them turn off... move windows seems to happen everytime)

any ideas?

so no one out there has seen this or has any idea what to do? i'm really at a loss as i don't even know how to figure out a workaround for this

Not sure if this is related, bu I have some mystery issues as well. I installed the ccsm and made a few changes. After logging out and then back in, my desktop background is black and I get no context menu on the desktop. I try to log out, but eventually need to restart the xserver.
