Angry Compiling Xfce4

Hi Guys

I am trying to install xfce4 on my laptop.
I am using suse9 on hp pavilion ze4125, kernel 2.6.5
i installed the suse rpms from usrlocalbin website
but xfce4 crash right after startxfce4, so I decided to
go for compiling. I got all the software and installed
everything into /usr/local.

I can't get the xfce4 packages (like xfce-mcs-manager-4.0.5)
to compile it keep looking for /opt/gnome/lib for the
glib2 libraries, I refuse to copy them there.
I believe that I have setup all the env variables
pointing to /usr/local/lib. Any help is apprecciated!

salu2

Paulo
