Question Compiling winex from cvs

When building winex I get the following message:

In file included from d3dgl_private.h:5,
from caps.c:18:
../../include/win_gl.h:31:21: GL/glu.h: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [caps.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/root/wine/dlls/d3dgl'
make[1]: *** [d3dgl/libd3dgl.so] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/root/wine/dlls'
makes: *** [dlls] Error 2

This happens whether I use ./tools/makeinstall or the standard './configure' and 'make depend && make' commands. Suggestions anyone?

If I'm not mistaken you have to install the Mesa GL libraries. Pull them from www.rpmfind.net and give it a try.

Good Call, Erik. Thanks. Are you familiar with WineX? It failed to find my windows install, do you know how to edit the configuration files to point it to the right files it needs?

thanks again.

Well, not too familiar. I have gotten it to the point where I can run small stuff like winzip, but for example Monkey Island 4 still has trouble recognizing the CD's.

Make sure you have your windows partition mounted when you run tools/wineinstall from the source tree. If it really fails to find windows, the config file is in .wine/config, but I wouldn't know how to find out which registry entries to add. That's where the wineinstall script is for.

Good luck,

Erik

There is a good WineX-cvs guide at Franks Corner along with some other wine tips/utilities.
