Compiling Qt 3.1.2

Hi all,
I am having a small doubt regarding QT. I have made an application based on QT 3.1.2 on Red Had Linux 8(kernel 2.4.18). Now i am planing to use CentOS 5(kernel 2.6.18) which as qt 3.3.6 by default. I would like to know if it is possible to compile qt 3.1.2 in CentOs. and run the current application with out any change or i may have to recompile the application for qt 3.3.6. if so will there be any modifications in code needed. QT guarantees backward compatibity upto 3.3.0 for at 3.3.6. If any one knows any thing regarding this pls <edit> respond here </edit>

thanks
vishak

Another consideration is glibc compatibility. You may have to recompile the application on CentOS 5 because of the differences in glibc versions between Red Hat 8 and CentOS 5. I suggest that you start by recompiling your application on CentOS 5 using the versions of gcc, Qt, and glibc that come with CentOS. That is probably the easiest solution to your problem. Only if that did not work would I recommend going the more complicated route of trying to juggle two different versions of Qt and/or glibc on CentOS.

Wouldn't it be easier to re-compile the application under 3.3.6?
Unless it's HUGE the effort should be less than "downgrading" Qt.

Cheers,
Tink
