Compiling OpenOffice without PAM

Hi!

I just tried to compile OpenOffice 1.9.113 Build 680 on my LFS-system but got the following .configure-error:

checking security/pam_appl.h usability... no
checking security/pam_appl.h presence... no
checking for security/pam_appl.h... no
configure: error: pam_appl.h could not be found. libpam-dev or pam-devel missing?

Actually, I AM missing PAM on my system but I do not see why OpenOffice needs PAM. Is there a way to compile OO without PAM? I could not find a configure-option that disables PAM..

Thanx,
Christoph ;-)

Not sure exactly how to help but Slackware doesn't ship nor support Pam out of the box.
Maybe you could try converting Slack packages?? Again I am shooting in the dark here, but it appears as possible?

I've got the same problem. Wen I attempt to "make" PAM (0.80) I get this:

Code:
Processing file ../pam
/usr/bin/nsgmls: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
SGML parsing error - exiting at /usr/lib/sgml-tools/SGMLTools.pm line 394.
make[1]: *** [html/pam.html] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/dane/tmp/Linux-PAM-0.80/doc'
make: *** [doc] Error 2
Any ideas?

Thanks.

LFS has a patch to disable PAM in OOo 1.1.4 that does apply to OOo2 (last time I tried anyhow):
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs...no_pam-1.patch

(They also have a few other patches that might be useful: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs...penoffice.html (Stable)
and
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs...penoffice.html (Unstable)
)

Thanks for the links! Unfortunately, the first one doesn't work. :-) Do you know if they have a patch for 1.9/2.0 beta?

Thanks!
