Compiler not installed on MDK 10.0

I installed Linux for the first time last week. I installed mdk because that's what they were talking about on most forums to be the most beginner friendly distro. Right about now i'm fimiliar with most of the KDE options but i really wanted to go deeper into linux to see what all the open source is about. I decided to first try compiling stuff and not using the .rpms and when i tried to it turned out that i don't have a compiler installed. During the installation of mdk i thought i wouldn't need the compiler since i thought i wouldn't need it since i don't know C++. So can anyone please tell me how i can get a C++ compiler?

Thank You

You will need to install the gcc rpm, there is also probably a separate extention rpm for compiling C++, they will both be on your CDs.

More easy than that from a su'd console type urpmi gcc if it needs a disk it will prompt you for the disk...you might need to do urpmi gcc++ for the c++ compiler component...
