compile 2.6.13


i compile the kernel-2.6.13 on gentoo-2.6.11-r3 but th new kernel <version> has'nt been added...what do i do?

What steps did you follow? What do you mean it hasn't been added? Are you following the Handbook? I found it was best to follow that very closely when I installed Gentoo.

You can not skips any steps in the handbook and it will work fine.
As said above,more detailed info is needed.

Yeah, there are several places where you could be having problems, and you just sorta need to look around a bit to see what did and didn't happen:
  • Did the kernel get built (or installed from a package)?
  • Is there a file on /boot?
  • Is there a new entry in the boot-loader menu (e.g. /boot/grub/grub.conf)? Or in the case of LILO, has it been re-run?
Obviously, I'm not a gentoo'er myself, but this is the general procedure to follow...
