I need a way to script the compacting of several users inboxes from a command line or perl script, anyone know of any such command?

I'm not an expert, but I doubt it. I've been looking for similar commands for firefox and haven't found any way to access the ones I want to use. I don't think they've yet provided any external access functions for most commands. Perhaps it will be possible if and when they add dbus support.

In any case you should probably ask them directly.
