command line utility to convert between formats like .doc, .sxw, .rtf and others?

Hey guys, I've been looking for a command-line utility to switch between document formats or export document formats to pdf. I have stumbled across abiword having the option to do this, however, it appears as though abiword doesnt support the sxw ( 1.X) format, and what i really need is a command line way to either switch sxw to doc or to export it to .pdf. Thanks.

I am not real familar with Open office but I thought there was an export pdf function. If that fails then another other option would be to print to file using a postscript printer driver which then generates a postscript file. To create a pdf file use the ps2pdf conversion tool. Another option If you are using cups would be to configure a cups-pdf printer. When you select the printer it will automatically generate a pdf file.
