Color Management Messed Up For Me in Firefox

I'm using PCLinuxOS with KDE-4, and somehow I have managed to mess up the color management functions, resulting in Firefox displaying images with the wrong colors. At this point, I'm lost as what caused this and hope that someone can point me to how I can undo what I did wrong.

I created a test Web page that shows the problem:

http://www.grivel.net/phototest/

On this page is a screenshot with how the page looks in Firefox (top) and Chrome (bottom) on my laptop. I think it is clear that the banner has a greenish tint in Firefox.

I would like to add that Gimp, which should also be color management aware, does display the images correctly. Also, the image itself is tagged to use the standard sRGB color profile.

The computer that I'm having this problem on is the Lenovo W700 laptop, which has an actual color calibrator built-in. I have been trying to use this color calibrator under Linux, which may have caused the problem. Unfortunately, I didn't start noticing the problem until a couple of weeks after my failed attempts to get the calibrator to work, and I don't remember exactly what I did.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this issue fixed? Now that I know about the problem, I can see the greenish cast everywhere....

Eric

Something to try: in the Edit menu, click on Preferences. Select the Content tab. In the Fonts and Colors area, click on the Colors button. Then select "allow pages to choose their own colors".

Thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid that isn't the problem. The issue is with color management, and with the (system) default sRGB profile. I can use one of the about:config settings in Firefox to turn off color management altogether and images look good again.

I *think* I have somehow changed the system-wide color profile for my monitor to an incorrect profile. Few tools properly use color management; I think Firefox may be the only one of the programs I use that incorrect setting.

Any suggestions anyone where I can look for, and change, the monitor color profile? Is this something that is part of the KDE4 windowing system?

Eric
