Question Code Vault for Linux

I've been looking for a Linux alternative to Code Vault (http://sourceforge.net/projects/codevault/) for a while, but haven't found one yet.

Anyone know a good piece of native Linux software to store stuff like code snippets, BASH functions etc. in (preferrably with syntax highlighting)?

I'd look at Subversion or Git. I use subversion a bit and while it doesn't have syntax highlighting built in, there are web/gui interfaces to it that do.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm really not looking for a revision system like Git or SVN, just a piece of local software to store code snippits in. Any real coding I do goes into Git.

I use http://www.toodledo.com/ for quick snippets into various 'notebooks'. It's down and dirty with few markups, but is very handy for me.
