Cluster or distcc

If i need to built kernels, possiby a gentoo or lfs install on a few old computers. Would it be better to set up open mosix or something similar or just use distcc?

I would just keep it simple and have your best computer compile all the kernels. I use my 2.6ghz pentium 4 laptop to compile for my 224mhz cyrix 2. Just be sure to compile for the right architechture and ide chipset

well my fastest would be a G5 1.8. But i could combine with so many other computers that i have around. I could get it up 6 GHZ. That would save me a lot of time.

Thats true . . . then I suggest you look at just using distcc as a cluster is a bit of an overkill.
