Cistron Radius 1.6.6
Question for you guys,
I have installed Cistron Radius 1.6.6 (on Debian if it matters) and am having a problem with a specific attribute Cisco-AVPair and was wondering if anyone could help. The config looks like this: admin Auth-Type = Local, Password = "drowssap" Service-Type = Administrative-User, Login-Service = Telnet, Login-TCP-Port = 23, Cisco-AVPair = "shell:priv-lvl=15" The error I get is this: (from /var/log/radius.log Info: Starting - reading configuration files ... Error: Unknown attribute "Cisco-AVPair" Error: /etc/raddb/users[11]: Parse error (reply) for entry admin dictionary.cisco has the entry: ATTRIBUTE Cisco-AVPair 1 string Cisco So I am thinking this should work just fine but for some god aweful reason I cant get it to work. Does anyone have any suggestions? or maybe a push in the right direction or a Doc or 2 :) I have seen some FAQ's and such but not a whole lot on the Cisco-AVPair attribute. I have even searched the forum for such a thread all I could see was there looked like a few Cistron users so I thought I could get some advice. Thanks, rewt |

How did you reslove this problem ?
I have same trouble. Please Help me. Thx. Martin |
mchmelik,
Look in the /etc/raddb Dir or where your radius files are located. you should see a number of dictionary files such as dictionary and dictionary.cisco Open up the dictionary file and be sure this line is listed or if so uncommented. $INCLUDE dictionary.cisco dont forget to restart the radius server. Thats all it is to it. Hope this solves your problem. Rewt |
BINGO !
I spend all night with this problem.
Finally I swop Cistron Radius to freeradius-0.8.1.tar.gz and it was working correctly. Now I'm trying Cistron Radius again using Rewt's advice and also Cistron Radius is working ! I compared dictionary files of both and in Cistrons Radius line "$INCLUDE dictionary.cisco" was missing :-( Many thx to Rewt. Martin. |
