Cisco vpnclient won't work with large packets in RH9
Hi!
A couple of months ago I encountered this problem. I got a
new machine at work and installed RH9 and the latest kernel
(2.4.24) and Cisco vpnclient 4.0.1. It worked fine on my old
RH 7.1 and Cisco vpnclient 3.7.
The tunnel is initiated perfect but I can't access mail, web
or mount our server with samba. Telnet, ping and traceroute
works fine. I tried to install the latest kernel today (2.4.26)
and the latest vpnclient 4.0.4, but no difference.
I discovered with ping that packets above 1275
bytes is rejected.
Using the same computer, but logged into XP instead, it
works fine. I checked the MTU-size of the normal interface
it is set at standard 1500 and the MTU-size of the virtual
cipsec interface is 1400, which I believe is normal, to be
able to handle the extra overhead.
Would appreciate a solution to this problem or at least
hear if someone else has encountered the same problem
in which case one might contact Cisco to see if there's a
general problem in their linux vpnclient.
