Microsoft should go into the business of vacuum cleaners, where people want products that suck.

can i suggest that you *don't* use the cisco client? try vpnc instead, a much much simpler implementation for cisco vpns. it is, apparently, slightly less featureful, but never been an issue to me.

clmowers 03-28-2007 07:03 AM

I would, but our firewall is not configured to allow generic IPSec tunnels... We only allow this for site to site, not client to site. So i have not choice but to use the cisco VPN client on my box.

acid_kewpie 03-28-2007 07:19 AM

as i said above, it is for cisco ipsec tunnels, xauth the likes.

I will give it a shot to see what happenes and i will let you know. Thanks for you help

Ok I have installed the client and i do have 1 more question. I havent messed around with this program. Will the cisco PCF file work with this program or does it need to be redone. Also, if it does need to be redone, What are the settings that need to be in the config file? Thanks

this seems like a reasonable setup guide. http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/draft/vpnc-howto.xml
