We don't know what's going on on your box, but here's the #1 way to get help:
try to start them from a terminal and see what errors you get.I know for a fact that I can start kino from a terminal with "kino". I bet cinelerra works similarly. Post any errors you might get here.
It's probably something with missing dependencies.
By the way, the bouncing icon means absolutely squat. It's one of the most annoying features of KDE IMO and I immediately turn it off after installing kde or a distro that comes with it. The default time is 30 seconds, not a minute
