Cinelerra, Kino, won't open

I'm running FC6 and I installed Cinerella and Kino, but when I click on their icons in the menu, an icon will bounce on my mouse for a minute, and then nothing happens? Whats up with that?

We don't know what's going on on your box, but here's the #1 way to get help:
try to start them from a terminal and see what errors you get.I know for a fact that I can start kino from a terminal with "kino". I bet cinelerra works similarly. Post any errors you might get here.

It's probably something with missing dependencies.

By the way, the bouncing icon means absolutely squat. It's one of the most annoying features of KDE IMO and I immediately turn it off after installing kde or a distro that comes with it. The default time is 30 seconds, not a minute .

got it working. http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=141700

I needed the right codecs, but there was apparently a conflict. so I uninstalled faad and faac and made sure I was using livna not atrpms to dl mplayer, kino, and the needed codecs. then I disabled livna and enabled atrpms to get cinerella. problem solved, now they both open just fine, time to start editing video!
