I have other servers on the same network with the same software/hardware that never loses its mount to the windows share, and nightly backups are run through those mounts. So why does the mount on this machine fail when we do a push? The only conclusion that I can come to is there is some sort of time out on the windows server that causes this. The other servers that have this same type mount use their share every night, where as the share on this server gets used once or twice a week. Once the mount hangs I can not unmount it, I have to reboot the server. Once the server is rebooted the push works fine. But then the next week when a push is tried it hangs. What else can I check?
UPATE: I've also tried NFS mounts and autofs mounts and they hang as well

Reason: .
I had a similar problem once. The connection would hang when I tried to move a lot of data all at once. I could seemingly make an unlimited number of short file transfers, but lengthy transfers would always fail. This occurred with SMB, NFS, scp, and FTP. In my case, the problem was specific to a Linux host being operated as a server running Samba, SSH, NFS, and FTP servers. The problem went away when I replaced the ethernet NIC. I used the same NIC in another host, and never had a problem, but the problem did go away as soon as I replaced the NIC in the troubled server. Might be worth a shot for you.

Hmmm I'll keep that in mind. Right now I can't swap out the NIC because its a remote server, but I do have someone going out there tomorrow so i can have them swap it out. Thanks for the info
