chrome for playing you tube?

I have been using fedora 17 for a while but it dosent have any flash thats supported for playing you tube videos.Im trying to stop using windows.
I basically look at a few web sites and like to read online.I watch (or would like to)you tube.
I consider adding google chrome,is this a linux program?
I almost think about having an you tube only system.uh does it exist?
I do like Fedora 17 but the lack of being able to watch you tube is a bummer. advise or suggestions?

Type this in the address bar (yes, where you usually have http://www.google.com or whatever):

chrome://plugins/

Do you see one there that says something like(?):
Adobe Flash Player - Version: 11.2 r202Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202

If not, you need to install it.

If you do have something like that, in the upper right of the Plugins window, you should see "Details." Click the "+" sign. Then scroll down to your Flash Player entry. Mine says this. (Does yours?)

Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202

Name:Shockwave Flash

Version:11.2 r202
Location:/opt/mint-flashplugin-11/libflashplayer.so

Type:NPAPI
Disable

MIME types:
MIME type
DescriptionFile extensions

application/x-shockwave-flashShockwave Flash.swf
application/futuresplashFutureSplash Player.spl

Please post all the data you can so we can help you out.

You can place a link on your desktop for faster YouTube browsing and viewing directly from the site.
