Question chmod -R but not on folders

Hello all!
I want to do a "chmod -R 444 *" in a folder. In the same folder are other folders, which i dont want to chmod. But I do want to chmod the files, in that (sub) folder.

So...
How do I do?

Do this to execute chmod on all regular files in that folder
Code:
# find <folder> -type f -exec chmod 444 '{}' \;
