charting mean and standard deviation

I want to draw a chart something like this:
http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~mb55/talks/upset3.gif
where it shows the mean and the standard deviation.
I don't need the scatter dots.

I can get a chart with the scatter dots in OO Calc, but i don't see how to do the mean and s.d.

Is there a tool that runs on Linux that can do this?

The gnumeric spreadsheet has those together with a number of more advanced statistical tools.
