Change vncserver geometry while running
Have a vncserver running at ':1' and ':3' on my box. ':1' is '1152x768' which I use when I am at work on a smaller monitor. My ':3' is '1680x1050' which is what I use when at home using my wide-screen dell laptop screen.
This works fine, except that the two sessions are independent. Basically, I was at home, started firefox and some other applications in ':3'. Now I am at work and don't want to have to scroll around to see my desktop. If I use ':1', I can't get my desktop that was setup at ':3' with all the running programs.
Is there any way to change the resolution of a vncserver on the fly? With Windows & remote desktop, I am able to have the client dictate the resolution and color depth instead of the server specifying the settings (which is much more useful IMO).
Thanks,
Andrew
