Change default browser in KDE3

I've been searching for this for quite some time now. How can I change the default web browser in KDE 3 (under Mandrake Linux 9.2)?

Changing the File Associations for text/html does not do the trick as most topics here claim. And I don't know how to open the Gnome Control Center (gnomecc) which is supposed to solve the problem as well.

When you're setting the file associations, don't forget to tell konqueror
to use an external viewer (in the same file associations dialogue). Only
then it will open Galeon or whatever you use when you click a html file.
To open gnomecc, simply enter gnomecc at an x console (provided that
the name of the executable is actually gnomecc, and it's in your PATH var-
iable), but I don't see how a gnome configuration program should
affect KDE in the desired way? Not sure about this one.
