cert expiration warning 7 years too early

I've got a site hosted on a dedicated server and there are a variety of pages served through https and the mail uses ssl. I'm getting warnings that my certificate expires today despite the fact that I purchased the cert with a 10-year expiration date. I still have 7 years left! Can anyone tell me what might cause this immediate expiration warning?

Well since you purchased it (and paid for it, right?), the best place to ask for help is the place that sold you the certificate. They can (read: must, if they sold it) tell why it's doing that, and at minimum fix the problem for you.

EDIT: your information is quite minimal here; what certificate? what server? what OS? etc..

THANKs for your response. Apparently I was misinformed and the cert has actually expired. My buddy's buying a new one.

Thanks b0uncer.

I wondered. Certificate makers usually protect their revenue streams fairly closely, making you buy the same thing over and over again every couple of years, not every ten. (Why? Because they can.)
