Cell Phone Modem setup in FEDORA 3

When I use wvdialconf, it finds my cell phone on ttyUSB0. When I try to use kppp from the desktop menu, it lists several devices for a modem but NOT ttyUSB0, and all other device choices do not work. Why does wvdial know about ttyUSB0 and Kppp doesn't? When I try to setup the modem from the Internet connections menu, the same thing happens, it doesn't show ttyUSB0 as a choice.

You can make a symbolic link named /dev/modem to ttyUSB0 and set KPPP to use /dev/modem as modem device. To make the symbolic link go to dev, su to root and type
Code:
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 /dev/modem
Then choose /dev/modem on KPPP as modem device.
