Is there a app that lets me move files back and forth from my pc to cell phone that works with many manufacturers? I've seen some that works with Motorola and Nokia and thats it. I need one that works with multiple types of phones.
well if the phone can connect as a storage device, then you don't need any program. what kind of phone are you trying to connect? for motorola, there's moto4lin. you can also try gnokiii. i heard that it works pretty well for most phones.
Personally my phone and my mother's is a Motorola(I'll probably be getting a newer one once Alltel changes to Verizon). The reason why is that my brother, sister-in-law, and other family and friends all have different phones. They come to me from time to time to add ring tones and take pictures and vids off there phone.
all phones with addon cards have mass storage option, i know this because i work with phones. and there should be no problem if you use them like this, ofcourse if you have the right cables. if you want them connected trough bluetooth that`s another story

Cool, can you point me in the right directions of the cables I need? I have a usb cable I use to recharge my moto razr with but can't send files back and forth. I used to use a program back when I had windows installed but can't use that anymore since I lost the installed cd and just about all the cables.
generally you need the conectivity cables that came with the phones. stick them into usb, and then the phone detects that is connected to usb and will ask if you want to enable mass storage device function
Distribution: Fedora mainly, but I am open to others.

It should also be noted that most modern phones have bluetooth and if you have a bluetooth dongle on your computer/laptop, you can transfer files that way very easily.
