cdrecord problem: Cannot load media
Hi all,
My first post. I was burning a CD-R on Solaris 10 using cdrecord, but someone else didn't know and accidentally ejected the CD when it was at about 98%. Now, no matter what I tried, I can't burn a CD again, cdrecord comes up with "Cannot load media" error and ejects the disc. Already tried to power down the whole thing, also tried a different disc. "iostat -En" shows Media Error: 15 (with the disc inserted), not sure what that means. "cdrecord -scanbus" still shows the drive. |
try this
Shutdown the system completely. Remove or unplug both the power and data cables from the physical hard drive. Reboot. Now try to open cdrecord. Of course, dump all data from the cache before erasing junk from /tmp. Now shutdown. Reconnect the CD drive to the system. Just play any CD to see if it works. Then carefully test the software.
