cdrdao CD-R issues (MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-852S, Driver used: Generic SCSI-3/MMC)

Hi,

I'm fairly new to writing audio on CDs (indeed, this is my first attempt at doing so), and I'm trying to write 546 MBs of wav files to a CD-R, all audio, by means of cdrdao and a hand-made .toc file. The problem is, however, that while cdrdao treats the cd as written after the operation, the disc cannot be played, and indeed, when the disc is removed and re-inserted, it is treated as empty, though cannot be re-written.

I'm unsure of exactly what logs and other data is necessary for troubleshooting this, but to start, the writing command and log, as copied after the fact:

Cdrdao version 1.2.3 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
/dev/sr0: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-852S Rev: 1.21
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC - Version 2.0 (options 0x0000)

Code:
$ cdrdao write --device /dev/sr0 --speed 1 TWCDV6CD1.toc

Starting write at speed 4...
Pausing 10 seconds - hit CTRL-C to abort.
Process can be aborted with QUIT signal (usually CTRL-\).
Turning BURN-Proof on
Enabling JustLink.
ERROR: Cannot set Ricoh mode page 30.

Power calibration successful.

Wrote 546 of 546 MB (Buffer 100%).
Wrote 243430 blocks. Buffer fill min 100%/max 100%.

Writing finished successfully.
The disc-info immediatley after operation:

Code:
$ cdrdao disk-info
Cdrdao version 1.2.3 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
/dev/sr0: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-852S      Rev: 1.21
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC - Version 2.0 (options 0x0000)

That data below may not reflect the real status of the inserted medium
if a simulation run was performed before. Reload the medium in this case.

CD-RW                : no
Total Capacity       : n/a
CD-R medium : CMC Magnetics Corporation
                       Short Strategy Type, e.g. Phthalocyanine
Recording Speed      : n/a
CD-R empty           : no
Toc Type             : CD-DA or CD-ROM
Sessions             : 1
Last Track           : 11
Appendable           : no
And after re-insertion:

Code:
$ cdrdao disk-info

CD-RW                : no
Total Capacity       : 79:57:71 (359846 blocks, 702/807 MB)
CD-R medium : CMC Magnetics Corporation
                       Short Strategy Type, e.g. Phthalocyanine
Recording Speed      : n/a
CD-R empty           : yes
I hope that's enough to get started. Cheers.

Ah! I knew I'd forget something.

I'm running Slackware 13.37, which of course comes with the 2.6.37 kernel.

Also, the .toc being used:
TWCDV6CD1.txt

I would use cdrecord instead. I don't see any reason to use cdrdao unless you are cloning a CD or burning a .bin and .cue.
