CD volume in Alsa Mixer?
 
Where in the Alsa Mixer is the volume for CD/DVD playback?
When I put a music CD in and play it in XMMS, the volume is too low and my visualization plugin (GDancer) does not detect the sound.
I've tried turning up the volume in XMMS but it didn't do much at all.

Try turning everything all the way up - the CD volume may be mis-labelled.
