the red hat ftp is working fine for me, sometimes it is best to pick individual ftp sites, here are the list for all three cd's:

cd 1 : http://linuxiso.org/viewmirrors.php/464

cd 2 : http://linuxiso.org/viewmirrors.php/465

cd 3 : http://linuxiso.org/viewmirrors.php/466

these worked fine for me, I just tested them, linuxiso.org was down earlier today but it has been fixed now.

I don't mean to be pushy about rh 9, trust me, I just changed recently, I was hell bent on keeping 7.3, but the packages just caught up to me and I felt like I had to upgrade. The best would be red hat 7.3 with all updated packages, but you can't always get what you want.

Cheers!

cool thanx a lot
a lot of people have said to switch to 9 and to be honest i don't really like 7.3 i mean i'm sure it would be better if i had done a clean install but because i just upgraded it sort of messed things up like i have to enter the root pass to use xcdroast and crap like that which really sucks .. i want to try openbsd but not for a desktop i just need a powersupply and i can have a test box up :/ anyone got one?? hehe

well, red hat 7.3 was amazing, like I said it worked so well. 8 sucked in my opinion, that was totally glitchy, 9 is solid again so you shouldn't have any problems with it if you do a clean install. Upgrades are a bloody mess no matter how you do it with rh it seems.

Don't forget to backup your isp mail if you have any. (that was the one thing I forgot), get your bookmarks too.
