CD-ROM not ejecting

Hello,

I think this might sound trivial to many of you. I am a beginner with Linux (I use Fedora). My problem (among others :) is that whenever I insert a CD in the CD-RW unit (MSI 8348A) it gets stuck there. I can access the CD with the file manager, movie/music player but after Im done with it it wont respond to eject button until I reboot system. I also have XP and its not happening there (so Im pretty sure the CD RW unit is fine).

Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks

You need to unmount the CD before you can eject it. I think RedHat comes with a CD-ROM/CDRW icon on the desktop, no? If so, right-click on it and select Unmount. If not, open up a terminal and type umount /mnt/cdrom or wherever your CDRW is mounted.

That was easy

Wonder why I didnt think of that :P. No icon on the desktop but the command line did the job.

Thanks a lot.

PS: I think I'll add that icon on the desktop for convenience...

What pisses me off is when my system doesn't kill commands. It don't know why, but when programs freeze for me, the killall or the kill commands don't work the majority of the time. It's mostly because of these events that I have to reboot, the other times are when I'm doing kernel changes or just for the nightly poweroff....
