i can't get xcdroaster to even run. it's installed and in my menu and everything. this is the message i get: "No root configuration file fouind or not readable! The superuser must start and convigure X-CD-Roast first, before other users can use it. " I am the only user on this computer. I set no root pass in installation. why can't i access the roaster?
oh, when i try to use gnome toaster, there is no drive selctable. my cdrw drive works and is recognized by mandrake. i just wondered if i need to change a mount point or something. help on either proggy is cool, i just want to burn some cds.
Even though you didn't set a root password, you still need to
su - root
then start and configure xcdroast.
as for toaster, don't know. My biggest question is, how come you aren't using k3b? I believe it is under System-->Archive for some reason.
It installed automatically for me with 9.2 and 10.0 official. Click on the start-->run command, or open a console and enter
k3b
It is likely installed. If not, it is on your CDs. It is all that I use. Very user friendly, although it may too need to be configured by root.
so, eh, is 10.0 worth downloading and upgrading? i mean, i should be downloading each cd in 5 minutes, but i keep getting these "network error" messages. i finally got one after about 15 error messages and 50 minutes.
10.0 Community, I found a complete waste. It never installed properly. I am part of Mandrake club, so got access to 10.0 official, and it is awesome. I was extremely surprised at how much better it was. Wait on the official release in a few weeks.
