cc is not working after gcc44 has been installed

Greetings!

I am using CENTOS 5.7 and I have installed gcc44 and linked as gcc. Now when I try to installed another software, it require cc and the it says could not find cc command.

I have posted on how to go about in installing gcc44 instead of gcc-4.1.2 in this forum and the related address is given below.

How I can make the cc to work?

You need to create a symbolic link to gcc44:

Code:
ln -s /usr/bin/gcc44 /usr/bin/cc
Hope it helps.

Code:
/usr/bin/cc
should be a symbolic link to
Code:
/etc/alternatives/cc
which should be a symbolic link to
Code:
/usr/bin/gcc
You should check the first two parts to make sure they point to where they're supposed to.
