Carmageddon 2

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has successfully got Carmageddon 2 working with wine/winex.
I am currently running WineX 2.0 (Compiled from source). My Distro is slack 8.0, on a AMD 1ghz 512 meg, 64 meg geforce 2. I heard WineX was susposed to run games pretty good so I gave it a shot, basically it ran Quake 2. Carmageddon will load up, in software mode(I do have the NVIDIA drivers and GLX enabled). The resolution is tiny (even after editing ./wine/config). The keyboard controls work, but neither of my gamepads work (Interact ProPad 6, and a USB logitech wingman), they work fine in Quake. I have been searching for help getting this game to run, and cant find any help at all...Since Im running straight linux, I cant play many games...And I REALLY dont want to repartition just for games. If anyone could help getting Carmageddon 2 running right, I would be very happy. Thanks.
