Can't view contents of my USB smart media reader

I have it set up correctly I believe. It is mounted and does appear as a directory but it shows nothing is there in the file when I put the card in the reader.

Here's /proc/scsi/scsi:

Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: TEAC Model: CD-W54E Rev: 1.1B
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: Sandisk Model: ImageMate SDDR-0 Rev: 0208
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

/etc/fstab:

/dev/hda5 / ext2 defaults 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hda7 /home ext2 defaults 1 2
/dev/sda1 /mnt/usbfd auto user 0 0
/dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom auto user,iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0,exec,codepage=850,ro,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd /mnt/cdrom2 auto user,iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0,exec,codepage=850,ro,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto user,iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0,sync,exec,codepage=850,noauto 0 0
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows vfat iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0,codepage=850 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda6 swap swap defaults 0 0

So I'm out of ideas. I would love to be able to load my digital photos with Linux rather than keep switching back to Windows so if somebody can help...thanks.

BTW I'm running kernel 2.4.x so it should work right?
