This is really buggin' me, I can't run either of them. I've installed them through rpmdrake and they showed up in the web browser category, in the "start menu". But when I click one of them, it just goes to the taskbar, and it says Starting <application> and 5 seconds later it just shuts down. No I don't wanna say Galeon or Epiphany are bad browsers, but its essential that I can use mouse gestures. Can't live without em'. On opera they are integrated and on Firefox they come as an extension.
Try opening a console and running them with a command "firefox" or "opera". It should kick out some messages, post them and we can see what the problem is.
In the console, type whereis firefox or slocate firefox - that will give you the full path to firefox. Then type in the full path in a console and let us know the result.
okaaaaay..........try: whereis mozilla-firefox
as root (via su) slocate mozilla-firefox - to do this, you may need to run updatedb as root first (only root has the permission to do this)
