Question Can't mount nfs share using umask

I want to mount NFS shared folder:

# mount -t nfs 192.168.1.1:/export /mnt/export -o umask=111
mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified

Without umask mount ok. Is umask is prohibited for nfs?

http://unixhelp.ed.ac.uk/CGI/man-cgi?mount+8 .... umask is listed under the filesystem-specific sections.

from man page:
Mount options for hfs

dir_umask=n, file_umask=n, umask=n
Set the umask used for all directories, all regular files, or
all files and directories. Defaults to the umask of the current
process.

hfs is a different network file system than nfs. You could create a bind mount on the server with different mount options than the original. For NFS4 you should do this anyway so all exports are subdirectories of the NFS root with the fsid=0 option.
