Cant get glx gears to work

i cant seem to get my GLX Gears running whenever i type "glx gears" in the Terminal it give me this error

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual


what do i do to fix this???

You need to uncomment the load glx in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

i am an extreme newbie to linux i got it put on my computer 4 days ago i know how to access some files but not much more than that
i know how to get into the xorg.conf file to change stuff but im not exactuly sure what to change.

look near the top for a line like
# load glx
just delete the # sign and save
