try ping the pc.
eg
ping 192.168.0.1

in x-windows u can try smb://your.pc.ip/folder
eg
smb://192.168.0.1/linux

or you can mount it manually
eg
#mkdir /mnt/win2003
#mount //192.168.0.1/linux /mnt/win2003 -t smbfs -o username=myusername,password=mypassword

Try this site, it has an explanation as to what settings have to be changed on your Windows 2003 server:

nice find. was just going to sujest checking the settings on the 2k3 box as knowing M$ they made it harder for non-M$ OSs to connect. that is extreemly typical of microcrap.

they did the same thing with NTFS and win2k. no supprise at all that you are having issues like this with win2k3. that is one more reason why i refuse to upgrade to 2k3 for my DC and am looking to replace win2k with linux someday in the next year or so.
