Cannot "save image as" in Evolution 1.2.1
Hi there,
I'm using Evolution and I'm happy with it. It's fast, stable and works well. I have a question regarding html images: When I receive a message with an image in it, and I want to save it, I right click on the image, and then a button saying "Save image as" appears, but I can't press it. Is this normal? How can I save attached images to a file? I have no problems when I try to save jpg or gif images. It only happens when the e-mail has html code. Cheers and thanks. |
Well, you can copy-paste from almost everywhere, and in Linux copy happens when you select the thing you want in the buffer unless you are in things ported from windows-- if this last is the case, hover mouse over thing you want or right-click it and tap CTRL-C to copy, then you can paste in a linux app or CTRL-V in a ported-from-windows app.

Hi there,
It doesn´t work. I´ve tried to cut and paste the images using both Copy, Paste and Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V, but there´s no way to copy the image. The only method that I have found useful is to capture the screen with The Gimp, but it is a pain in the *ss. More suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Cheers. |
OH>> Sorry, then what you are seeing is a linked image and not an embedded image. Usually, folks who send HTMLs with linked images do not want those saved. The only way I know then would be to go to the image's location in a browser, since what maybe copied is a URL Link. Netscape 7.0.1 for Linux in Mandrake will let you save a link target, this is what you are running into here-- an HTML coded link to an image. If the code that calles the image is in the form of <IMG SRC= (location)> then you want the location part pasted into a browser's address line if the server at the other end of the link will let you get there from a browser.
