cannot run realplayer as any other user but root

I am having problems running the realplayer as any other user but root. Only when I type the command realplay as root user will the realplayer pop up. What can be done to change that.

thank you,

it doesn't say anything, it waits a second and acts as if i typed "enter". It just goes to the next line

It could be a permission problem. How long did you wait?

Are the permissions set so that normal users have access to the folder?

When you type it in the terminal how long did you wait for something to happen. Maybe if you wait for some time it will produce an error message.
