cannot repair jre-6u2-linux-i586-rpm install

I am running fedora 7
I installed jre-6u2-linux-i586-rpm
All seemed to go well, no errors reported, but I cannot get javaws to run or activate it through the control panel
When I try to remove it "rpm -e jre-6u2-linux-i586-rpm" I get jre is not installed
When I try to reinstall "rpm -i jre-6u2-linux-i586-rpm" I get jre is already installed
I've also tried "rpm -F jre-6u2-linux-i586-rpm" but no luck.
Any idea's???

Commoon newbie mistake, one;
Installs by the filename of the package: rpm -i re-6u2-linux-i586.rpm
Removes by the package name: rpm -e re-6u2-linux-i586

Using the update or Freshen switch (-F) will not work with the same version of the package unless the force switch (--force) is also used; rpm -F --force re-6u2-linux-i586.rpm

This will not resolve the issue anyhow, to resolve your issue see;
