cannot print documents generated on Windows by CUPS in FC2
I want to print some documents (with extension .txt) written on Windows from my Fedora Core 2 (KDE), using CUPS (ver 1.1.20.) but I have problems.
when I try to print the document from shell with lpr commands, the printer prints out only first 1 - 2 lines of the text. The rest of the paper is blank. when I open the document in emacs and print out from there, the result is the same - it only prints the first 1-2 lines. when I open the documents in gedit, it can print the document but shows blank space where some special characters (danish characters) should be shown. I thought it could be because FC2 use unicode, so I saved the document with UTF-8 in gedit, but the result was the same. (And how could I change fonts in emacs??) I can print out documents I have written on my FC2 without problem, including Danish characters. Apparently docements written by Windows give problems... What could I do? Please help... |
