when i try to play music(mp3) or video (avi) my player totem returns this error ´You don´ have a decoder installed. You might need to install the necessary plugins´ . What should I do? Do you know any other good players for centos 5?
Well ,
this media player issue is a widespread problem in many distros ,because of the original versions not shipping the necessary packages to play videos and /or music..
what you need to do is , download the following rpm's (at least they work for suse)
w32codex , xinelib , speex , cacalib , totem and maybe some others.
anyhow you should searh for a distro specific package of xinelib and see what dependencies you get.
