is pc265.... what you named your computer or domain? If so, set the name of your computer/domain (I forget which...) as localhost in your /etc/hosts file.

this is what is in my etc/hosts file

((This is what is in my etc/hosts file))
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

That is already set to local host?? Could there be another problem?

Try adding this to the /etc/hosts file.

127.0.0.1 <whatever name is giving you the error>

hmmm. cant access /etc/hosts file

I tried to run /etc/hosts in the command line and got "permission denied" and even tried logging in as root and still nothing. I even went and tried to find the file manually, but its not there
