cannot find mysql include files

Hello,

I am running Fedora 2 with qmail and mysql 3.23 and Im having issues installing vqregister, if you go to the URL http://qmailrocks.org/extra/vqregister.htm and look where is mentions ediing the MakeFile where it specifies the MySQL include files directory. /usr/include/mysql i search on my server for "include" and there is no reference of anything that has to do with mysql and includes?

any ideas?

includes will be found in the mysql-devel rpm (or something similar if fedora doesn't package that exact name)

Im the example in the MakeFile itself it gives this path usr/local/mysql/include

there is no mysql dir in local either...but MySQL works great i have several sites using it.

thanks

ok great i just checked and i dont have that package install, mysql-devel so if i get the rpm and install it the include files will be placed where they are suposed too?

Will that mess up Mysql? should I stop the mysqld server before?

Thanks

it won't break anything, it literally is just c header files, only useful for compiling stuff, not actaully running anything.

i just installed vqregister located http://qmailrocks.org/extra/vqregister.htm.

It works fine it created the user entered and everything but the info entered in the form is not getting dumped in to the database?

the db, tables, fields didnt get created after i typed the make install all clean command.

So i had to create the db, table, fields, adn user myself but it still doesnt enter the data in there.

Am i missing something?

has anyone delt with this program before?

My database works fine otherwise.

thanks
