Can you install the AOL software into Mandrake?

Aol can be installed using wine but it uses its own dialup software so it dosent run, well i could not get it to run so I signed up for a freeserve account.

Googles' a good place too start looking, search strings link AOL+linux+uk and similar. I understood that there is a facility/app that might help, I think it's called pengy or something like that - I haven't used it, so can't vouch for it (actually I only had a very brief flirtation with AOL when I first started with computers 6 or 7 years ago, and managed to avoid them since!).

Dunno if that'll help any though

Hi,
I have never been able to use AOL on my linux computers.
Perhaps it is just my inexperience, but on other boards lots of posts state the same thing.
When I phoned AOL about that I had a nice "get lost" answer, i.e. "We don't support Linux".

I changed for free.fr (free like in beer). No more trouble.

try Netscape's web browser it has an IM bundeled in that connects to AOL
