I think this is ok........but it might not be the best idea to post a direct link to the iso's on LQ.org.

Roger Aussie.

Sewer Monkey, SuSE provide an FTP installation thats free, just not ISO images of the CDs. I dont see why one method of install differs legally from another ?!?!

(I doubt that my line would handle the bandwidth very well anyway!)

Anyhow as an update after a slight act of stupidity I cost myself a night of uploading. But 2 images are uploaded with 5 to go at 6 hours each.

I could get them up in 30 hrs, if someone can tell me how to use mput properly (I'll give it another go on the next image when I get home from work)

I'll have the images up (though as I should remind everyone that they are untested except for disc 5) by monday and then anyone who wants access to the images can mail me through this site. I should recieve my next batch of CDs monday, so I will test all the images then.

I'm still confident that they are OK though

OK Shass, I'm uploading to NycOn still, I should have it finished in about 20 hours, (i think i've got tomorrow off, so I'll nurse the last images up) then I'll post here, you should mail nycon as well, ask him to begin giving you access to the images that I've already uploaded to him.

I am using all my bandwidth sending to him at the moment so no-one can dl'd from my machine at the moment, but as I am using his inbound bandwidth to send him the stuff he should be open for you to begin downloading the uploaded images. And when I've finished uploading then you can start downloading from my site at the same time!

yep use the other images as they should be OK. I'll recreate the first disk and upload it to nyc0n tonight. feel free to download the other images though... As I don't know how to create a bootable disk under linux as yet, I'll use a winapp to create a .bin or .cue or both or somthing You'll see the image on the site when it's done,

I rekon it'd work if we used Nero to make an image of the first CD, but then, it's a win app and I don't know if you've got it shassouneh.

I hope you'll work it out. I've done my part of the job now and I can't really help on that one so, good luck.

well I did try it to make sure it worked but I didn't boot with it. I don't think it'd be a problem anyway cuz I used Nero under windows and made an exact copy of it so I rekon it does work.
Anyway, you're welcome, I'm always up for helping people up.

OK the first disk has been replaced, but download it last man, I'm uploading it to nyc0n who will test it out first... because he's such a cool guy!! I've already tested it and it boots nicely, but that was before zipping and transfering the file. I know, I know, I should not have zipped the files.... Oh well, it should be OK.

Oh, page 2... Ahh well...

The file suse8_disc1.iso is not bootable, I left out some important options using mkfisofs. Sorry!!!

I have created a file set using cloneCD under windows that will enable you to burn the image back onto a CD _and_ have it boot the system for you (which makes life nice and easy for the install)

So unfortunately you'll need to download Suse8_disc1.zip. but as i mentioned above, i'm uploading it to nyc0n at the moment so download it last.

Oh, and MasterC cheers for the email,.. anyone who wants a copy can mail me!
