Can only run Firefox as "root"

I installed Firefox 1.0 as root last night. It is a much better browser than Konqueror. I am currently running Suse 9.2 distro. When I log in as myself and "su", I get:
Xlib: connection to "0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

(firefox-bin:3262): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display

When I log in as myself and don't "su", I don't get any error message (but it doesn't run either).

When I log in as root, Firefox runs perfectly. I installed Firefox with the firefox-installer.

Never mind

I just needed to change the permissions on the "xpi" subdirectory.

Thanks, changing the permissions on the "xpi" subdirectory worked for me. I'm running Suse 9.1 on a USB Disk.
